Mi sveglio nella mia camera, con vista incredibile, a Melbourne. Sono ospite dell’albergo Art Series The Olsen che con la sua posizione strategica in città e i suoi 13 piani svetta regalando agli ospiti una vista mozzafiato sulla città illuminata (ndr. Astenersi sofferenti di vertigini 🙂 ) Come dicevo, questo hotel è sito in un punto strategico per lo shopping perchè, mentre Fitzroy (di cui vi ho parlato qui) è il santo graal per il vintage, Chapel Street lo è per lo shopping trasversale fra negozi internazionali e catene locali, inoltre fanno la loro comparsa in questa strada lunghissima anche negozi di artisti locali e brand autogestiti. Un giro quindi è d’obbligo. Il mio si è svolto sotto la pioggia ma ve lo racconto con l’entusiasmo di una giornata primaverile.
I wake up in my room, with incredible views, in Melbourne. I am a guest of the hotel Art Series The Olsen that with its strategic location in the city and 13-storey towers offering guests a breathtaking view of the city lit (note Refrain suffering from vertigo :)) As I said, this hotel is located in a strategic point for shopping because, while Fitzroy (of which I talked about here) is the holy grail for vintage, Chapel Street is the shopping cross between international stores and local chains also make their appearance in this way too long shops of local artists and self-managed brand. A lap so it is a must. My took place in the rain but I tell you with the enthusiasm of a spring day

“Il nostro obiettivo quando abbiamo iniziato ZOOLOGIE ! , Era quello di costruire una società indipendente lunga durata dedicata alla qualità e artigianalità . Volevamo rendere moderna l’abbigliamento artigianale con autentici costruzione e dettaglio e volevamo farlo localmente in piccoli lotti. Melbourne era la casa tradizionale di fare capo in Australia e ha ancora alcuni dei produttori più qualificati di tutto. Ci rendiamo conto che fare vestiti a livello locale è quasi una vecchia mentalità in un mondo globalizzato , ma c’è qualcosa di grande nel fare abiti nella stessa area , come si vive, a conoscere le persone che fanno loro e nel mantenere sia i nostri addetti alla produzione e dei nostri clienti come un parte integrante della nostra comunità personale. In questo modo , quando noi cresciamo e sviluppiamo la nostra attività , i nostri produttori locali crescono e si sviluppano con noi. Il ZOOLOGIE ! Filosofia progettuale si basa sulla funzionalità e qualità nel creare abiti classici con un tocco artigianale moderna e meticolosa attenzione ai dettagli . Vediamo ogni capo che progettiamo come all’inizio di un lungo percorso che vedrà un giorno rinvigorito come un capo vintage di qualità che qualcun altro può possedere.”
Così amano descriversi parlando di loro stessi. E questo è proprio ciò che si respira all’interno di questo piccolo ma accogliente negozio a Melbourne. Materiali interessanti vengono mescolati fra loro per la realizzazione di capi di ottima fattura e trend.
“Our aim when we started ZOOLOGIE!, was to build a long lasting independent company dedicated to quality and craftsmanship. We wanted to make modern crafted clothing with authentic construction and detail and we wanted to do it locally in small batches. So describe love talking about themselves. And that is exactly what you breathe inside this small but cozy shop in Melbourne. Interesting materials are mixed with each other for the realization of Heads of excellent workmanship and trends.
