My day stars very early as I am feeling overwhelmed by adrenaline. My week begins with lots of energy; I arrive to Malpensa Airport at 9am and my adventure immediately starts with a great surprise: I have been upgraded to first class with Singapore Airlines.

After relaxing in the Montale lounge of Malpensa airport, I am ready to start my 11 hours flight. I have a private couch that turns into a bed, and I spend my extremely comfortable time watching movies and dreaming about my final destination.

As soon as I arrive to Singapore I am greeted by its tropical weather. We are located 150 kilometers north of the equator and you can feel its humidity all around you. However, tropical weather conditions don’t scare us ; the Shangri-La hotel is waiting for us.

After spending a few hours in our new home sweet home, we start our tour around the city. Our first stop is the Coriander Leaf restaurant; we get there passing through Orchard Road – a real shopping mecca that goes from Tanglin Mall to Plaza Singapura: a two kilometers-long boulevard full of shops.

After enjoying some yummy local food, we decide to explore Singapore from above. The Cable Car is going to take us from Mount Faber all the way to Sentosa island, passing through Harbourfront. We are literally suspended up in the air and the view from above is simply amazing!

We finally get to one of the most touristic spots of the city: Sentosa island. Its beaches are artificial; they have been made in order to create an oasis of beauty and relax for locals and tourists. Sentosa features a number of luxury buildings like the Crockfords Tower – an exclusive all-suite hotel – the Hotel Michael – which looks like an art gallery – the Hard Rock Hotel – which features its characteristic rock vibe – and the Equarius Hotel – a real paradise surrounded by tropical jungle.

After enjoying a walk on the beach we decide to treat ourselves to a moment of pure relax at ESPA. This enchanting facility offers a blend of medical and holistic treatments including meditation, relax, body treatments, and much more. My 25 minutes massage with essential oils managed to push away tiredness, stress, and jet lag! Amazing!

The sea calls me with its waves and sand. This first day in Singapore finished with a delicious happy-hour eating lobster at the Tanjong Beach Club. What a wonderful day!
Stay tuned!
